Search & AI Visibility
Rank on Google. Get cited by AI.
Crescent Digital Solutions is a digital agency that runs SEO, AEO and GEO as a single service. SEO earns your rankings in Google's blue links. AEO wins the featured snippets and voice answers above them. GEO gets your brand named inside ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews. Most agencies sell the first one. Search stopped being only the first one.
Brands We Work With

What are SEO, AEO and GEO?
Three names, three different places your customer might find you. They share a foundation and diverge at the finish.
SEO — Search Engine Optimization
SEO is the practice of earning visibility in a search engine's organic results. It has three working parts: technical SEO (can a crawler reach, read and index your site), on-page SEO (does the page match what a searcher meant), and off-page SEO (does anyone else vouch for you). The full form of SEO is Search Engine Optimization. It is the oldest of the three and still the largest source of qualified traffic for most Indian businesses.
AEO — Answer Engine Optimization
AEO is optimising to be the answer, not to be a link near the answer. That means featured snippets, People Also Ask boxes, and voice results from Google Assistant, Siri and Alexa. AEO work is mostly structural: question-phrased headings, a direct 40–60 word answer under each one, clean lists and tables, and FAQPage or HowTo schema so the engine knows exactly which block answers which question.
GEO — Generative Engine Optimization
GEO is optimising to be cited by an AI model. The full form of GEO in SEO is Generative Engine Optimization. When someone asks ChatGPT "who are the best web development agencies for Indian startups", GEO determines whether your brand appears in that answer. It rewards different things than Google does: a clearly stated entity, named and credentialed authors, specific original numbers, external citations, and content that answers a question completely rather than teasing a click.
Worth knowing: you will see GEO and AEO used interchangeably. In practice AEO covers the wider category of answer engines — including featured snippets and AI Overviews — while GEO points specifically at generative models like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. The underlying work overlaps by roughly 70%. The measurement does not.
SEO vs AEO vs GEO — the short comparison.
| Dimension | SEO | AEO | GEO |
|---|---|---|---|
| Goal | Rank in organic results | Own the answer box | Get named in an AI answer |
| Where it shows | Google, Bing blue links | Snippets, PAA, voice | ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, AI Overviews |
| Wins on | Relevance + authority + links | Structure + directness | Entity clarity + citability + credibility |
| Measured by | Rankings, organic sessions, conversions | Snippet ownership, PAA presence | Citation share, brand mentions in AI answers |
| Time to first signal | 3–6 months | 4–10 weeks | 6–12 weeks |
Why you now need all three.
A single search used to produce ten blue links. Today the same search can produce an AI Overview, a snippet, a People Also Ask block, a map pack, and then the links. Each of those is a separate surface with its own rules.
Here is the practical consequence. A page can rank third on Google and still be invisible, because the AI Overview above it answered the question and named a competitor. Ranking is no longer the same thing as being found.
The reverse is also true, and it is the part most agencies skip: AI models still mostly read the open web. If your technical SEO is broken, a generative engine cannot cite you either. GEO does not replace SEO. It sits on top of it. Anyone selling you GEO without fixing your crawlability first is selling you a roof with no walls.
What's included in Crescent's SEO, AEO and GEO service.
Crescent's SEO services cover the full stack — the technical base, the pages, the content, the authority, and the two newer layers most agencies still treat as optional.
Technical SEO foundations
Crawlability, indexation, site architecture, canonical tags, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, redirect chains, Core Web Vitals and mobile rendering. We start here on every engagement because nothing downstream works without it. If a page cannot be crawled, it cannot rank, cannot be snippet-eligible, and cannot be cited by an AI model.
On-page and content optimisation
Keyword-to-page mapping so two of your pages stop competing with each other. Title tags, meta descriptions, heading hierarchy, internal linking with descriptive anchors, image alt text, and content depth sufficient to establish genuine topical relevance rather than a one-line service description.
Local SEO
Google Business Profile setup and optimisation, NAP consistency across directories, citation building, duplicate listing cleanup, location landing pages, local schema, and review management. This is what puts a business in the map pack for "near me" searches — and it is the fastest-moving lever for any company serving a defined geography.
Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
Question-phrased headings, direct-answer paragraphs, snippet-eligible lists and tables, and structured data — FAQPage, HowTo, Article, Organization, Product — implemented and validated. We audit which snippets your competitors currently hold and target the ones that are actually winnable.
Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
Entity clarity so models understand what your brand is. sameAs schema linking
your verified profiles. Named, credentialed authors on every published piece. Original data and
specific numbers, because generative models cite specifics and skip generalities. Content structured
to answer a question fully. And baseline measurement: we record how often ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini
and AI Overviews mention you before we start, so the change is provable.
Link building and digital PR
Editorially earned links from relevant sources, digital PR, and unlinked-brand-mention reclamation. No PBNs, no bought link packages, no directory spam. Cheap links are the single most common cause of the manual penalties we get called in to clean up.
Reporting you can actually read
One monthly report. Rankings, organic traffic, conversions, snippet ownership and AI citation share — with a plain-English note on what moved and why. No jargon, no vanity metrics, no forty-page PDF designed to look like effort.
Not sure where your search visibility stands?
We’ll identify the SEO, AEO and GEO opportunities worth prioritising first.
How we work.
We audit your site, your market and your competitors' search footprint. That means a technical crawl, a keyword and intent map, a snippet and AI-citation baseline, and an honest read on which terms you can realistically win this year versus which ones you cannot.
We build the architecture — the page map, the target keyword for each URL, the internal linking plan and the content roadmap. You approve it before anyone writes a word or ships a change.
Technical fixes first, then pages, then content, then authority. In that order, because reversing it wastes money. You get a shared board showing exactly what shipped each week.
Monthly reporting, quarterly strategy resets, and continuous iteration as the algorithms and the AI models change. Search moved three times in the past eighteen months. A strategy set in stone is a strategy going stale.
Who this service is for.
A good fit if you are:
- An established brand whose organic traffic has flattened or slipped since AI Overviews rolled out
- A startup with a new site and no search footprint yet, building the foundation properly the first time
- A local or multi-location business that needs the map pack more than it needs national rankings
- A B2B or SaaS company whose buyers now research through ChatGPT and Perplexity before they ever reach Google
- Anyone who has been burned by SEO services that reported traffic instead of revenue
Not a good fit if you are:
- Looking for guaranteed #1 rankings — nobody can promise those, and anyone who does is either lying or planning to rank you for terms nobody searches
- Expecting results in three weeks — SEO's first meaningful signals land at three to six months
- Unwilling to change the website — if we cannot ship technical fixes or publish new pages, we cannot move the numbers
We would rather tell you that now than three months into an invoice.
What SEO, AEO and GEO services cost.
There is no single price, and any agency quoting one before seeing your site is guessing. Cost is driven by four things:
- Competition in your category. Ranking a legal or insurance brand costs multiples of what it costs to rank a niche B2B manufacturer.
- Condition of your current site. A site with broken indexation needs remediation before optimisation.
- Scope. Technical-only, versus technical plus content plus authority building.
- Geography. One city, one country, or multi-market.
What you always get: a fixed monthly scope agreed in advance, no lock-in beyond the initial term, and a report that shows what the money bought.
Frequently asked questions.
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization. GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. SEO earns rankings in search results, AEO wins direct answers like featured snippets and voice results, and GEO earns citations inside AI-generated answers from tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini.
GEO in SEO means Generative Engine Optimization — optimising your content so that generative AI models name and cite your brand when someone asks them a relevant question. It differs from traditional SEO in what it rewards: clear entity definition, named authors with credentials, specific original data, external citations, and complete answers rather than click-bait teasers.
There are three core types. Technical SEO makes your site crawlable, indexable and fast. On-page SEO aligns each page's content, headings and metadata with search intent. Off-page SEO builds authority through earned links, mentions and digital PR. Local SEO is often counted as a fourth, covering Google Business Profile, citations and map-pack visibility for businesses serving a specific area.
SEO earns unpaid organic visibility over time. SEM — Search Engine Marketing — is the broader category and in common usage refers to paid search advertising such as Google Ads, where you buy placement. SEO costs effort and compounds; SEM costs money and stops the moment you stop paying. Most businesses need both, weighted by how urgently they need leads versus how long they can invest.
Expect the first meaningful movement at three to six months for competitive terms, and sometimes four to eight weeks for low-competition or local keywords. Technical fixes can show up faster — occasionally within weeks of re-indexing. AEO tends to move quicker than SEO because snippet eligibility is structural. Anyone promising page one in thirty days is either targeting keywords with no demand or is about to get your site penalised.
Yes. Crescent Digital Solutions works with early-stage startups as well as established brands, and SEO services are scoped to the stage rather than sold as a fixed package. For a small business, local SEO services and technical foundations usually deliver more in the first six months than a broad national campaign would.
You can hire Crescent Digital Solutions for one service. Local SEO services can run as a standalone engagement — Google Business Profile optimisation, citations, NAP cleanup, review management and location pages — without committing to the full SEO, AEO and GEO scope.
It is early, and that is the argument for doing it now. Search volumes for AI-search terms are still small, which means the cost of establishing visibility is low compared to what it will be once the category matures. The work also overlaps heavily with things worth doing anyway — schema, entity clarity, named authors, genuinely complete content. You are not gambling on a trend; you are doing good SEO in a form that AI models can also read.
One report a month, in plain English, covering rankings, organic traffic, conversions, snippet ownership and AI citation share — plus a short note on what changed and what we are doing next. If a number went the wrong way, it appears in the report.
No, and we would be suspicious of anyone who does. Rankings depend on competitors, algorithm updates and factors outside any agency's control. What Crescent commits to is a defined scope, an agreed timeline and honest reporting. If it can't be measured, we won't over-promise it.
Other ways we help you grow.
